Gerry joined ZHA in 2010 and has since played a leading role in the design, development, and delivery of key ZHA projects, including the BEEAH Headquarters in the UAE, the ZHA EAA Tents, Khalid Bin Sultan City and Beijing Daxing International Airport in China. With expertise spanning all project stages and encompassing site supervision and sustainability strategies, his focus lies within the intersection of design and technology.

School for displaced children, Turkey 2016
Gerry gained a Master of Architecture and Urbanism with Honours from the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) at the Architectural Association (AA) in London, where he specialised in computational tools and material behaviours. He has taught computational design workshops at the AA, and has lectured and participated as a visiting critic at architectural institutions across the UK, US, Mexico, Asia, and the Middle East.
Born in Mexico and with international studies, Gerry cultivated a global perspective. Outside of the office he enjoys playing basketball, and solving puzzles, with a growing collection of Rubik’s cubes.

Offices
Powered by its solar array and equipped with next-generation technologies for operations at LEED Platinum standards, the new BEEAH Headquarters has been designed to achieve net-zero and will be the group’s management and administrative centre that sets a new benchmark for future workplaces.

Transport + Infrastructure
Beijing Daxing International Airport is a new airport in the Daxing district 46km south of the city centre (20 minutes by express train).

Education
Designed for use as schools, clinics and emergency shelters in refugee and displaced communities, the tents are a joint venture between ZHA and the Education Above All Foundation (EAA).

Culture
The new Culture & Arts Centre by ZHA incorporates a contemporary art museum (MICA), an 1,800-seat theatre with supporting facilities and a multipurpose hall. Its organic architectural language is defined by pedestrian routes that weave through the site to connect with neighbouring streets.

Designed by ZHA, the masterplan for Khalid Bin Sultan City is adjacent to BEEAH’s acclaimed headquarters in Sharjah.

Offices
Adjacent to the West Kowloon Cultural District, the 3.2 million sq. ft. development above Hong Kong’s High Speed Rail West Kowloon Terminus connects established and emerging neighbourhoods with a network of public gardens and landscaped plazas.
