Maria’s responsibilities range from conducting design studies during the concept stage to delivering intricate façade system packages during the design development and construction stages. Her versatile skill set allows her to transition seamlessly between different workflows and project phases. She excels in coordinating façade systems, integrating exterior and interior considerations and combining 2D and 3D exploration.
Prior to joining ZHA, Maria worked at Urban Systems Office and Pattern Design in London, where she focused on large-scale international projects, providing computational solutions to complex geometries and design systems. She has experience in sports complex design, having previously worked on major projects in Qatar and Peru.

Maria received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with Honours and a Master of Architecture with Distinction from the University of Westminster in London. She is a registered architect in both the UK and Greece. Her design project was awarded at the Dezeen x MINI Living Future Urban Home Competition. She is an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University in London and a visiting Lecturer at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus.
Born in Scotland and raised in Greece, Maria’s early interest in architecture was sparked by the historical layers and consistency in building principles of her surroundings. Outside of architecture, she enjoys exploring the well-curated storylines at exhibitions and creating a jewellery line.
