About Nhan

Nhan Vo joined ZHA in 2014 and has contributed to the high standard of delivery across a number of built projects. With extensive experience from concept stage modelling through to construction detailing, he ensures that the team’s initial ideas evolve with clarity and precision into built form.

Profile

Nhan has extensive knowledge in the technicalities of the tools and methods which inform the designs of ZHA. He communicates and synthesizes the ideas of the team effectively, helping to facilitate a close collaboration between the client and the design team.

Additionally Nhan continually develops his experience in emerging digital and material technologies and how this can help refine the design and construction process within a project. Sustainability is an integral part of his approach, embedded from the earliest design stages through material selection, construction methods, and the lasting performance of spaces.

Prior to joining ZHA, Nhan gained valuable experience working with two architectural practices in San Francisco, contributing to commercial and residential projects across the US, UK, Australia, and China.

Featured Project

The Alba

Incorporating a variety of three- and four-bedroom units, each with a pool on expansive outdoor terraces, the Alba’s design creates an oasis for beachfront living and hospitality managed by the renowned Dorchester Collection.

Education & Professional Philosophy

Nhan received a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of California. He completed his Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) at the Architectural Association (AA) in London. He currently teaches at the AA Intermediate Program and regularly lectures and participates in panel discussions. He finds teaching provides balance between practice and reflection, allowing him to articulate and challenge his ideas through dialogue.

Nhan’s understanding of architecture is greatly influenced by his experience of living in rural Vietnam, the tech-driven environment of Silicon Valley, and now the multicultural fabric of London. Beyond architecture, he draws inspiration from contemporary art, furniture design, and film.
