About Yitzhak

Yitzhak Balfour Samoun plays a key role in shaping and delivering major mixed-use, commercial, office, residential and masterplanning developments across Asia, Europe and North America.

Profile

Since joining ZHA in 2013, Yitzhak has been involved in numerous large-scale commissions across diverse cultural, regulatory and urban contexts. His work spans multiple scales, from early concept definition through to project realisation. Alongside project delivery, he plays a role in shaping new opportunities for the practice’s presence in North America, with a particular focus on Canada.



Prior to joining ZHA, Yitzhak worked at Foster + Partners in Beijing and RMJM in Hong Kong, contributing to major international developments including the South Beach mixed-use project in Singapore and the Ningbo China Construction Bank Headquarters.

Shenzhen Institute of Financial Technology

The institute’s research and development laboratories, technology exchange, data centres, training campus, together with management, support and administrative departments, will be housed within the new 199m (46-storey) tower situated at the heart of China’s tech industry and served by adjacent stations of the city’s metro system.

Education & Professional Philosophy

Yitzhak holds a Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) at Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, where his research explored technological approaches to design semiology and human-centred spatial systems. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture with Honours from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.
