About Di

Di Ding joined ZHA in 2013 and has contributed to a wide range of key projects in China, overseeing developments from concept to completion. Her portfolio includes masterplans, mixed-use developments, landscapes, offices, cultural and residential buildings, as well as retail and commercial projects.

Profile

Di has played a key role in ZHA projects like Leeza SOHO and Wangjing SOHO in Beijing, and in recent years the Capital International Exhibition & Convention Centre in Beijing and the Unicorn Island Masterplan in Chengdu. Designing optimised workflows using advanced technologies, Di collaborates with clients, consultants, and construction teams. Her works extends to administrative responsibilities, acquisitions, exhibitions, office management, marketing, and contract negotiation.

 

Prior to ZHA, Di worked at Pure Design in Shanghai, contributing to urban design and masterplanning projects. She also collaborated with Minimaforms in London on interdisciplinary and interactive installations, including robotic-arm-based exhibitions.

Education & Professional Philosophy

Di received her Bachelor of Architecture from Tongji University in Shanghai, China, and her Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) at the Architectural Association (AA) in London. She was a tutor for the AA Visiting School in collaboration with Tsinghua University in Beijing. 

 

Di’s education and travels exposed her to diverse architectural styles and approaches. Outside work, she enjoys travelling and immersing herself in different cultural, social, artistic, and culinary experiences.
