Since joining ZHA in 2016, she has contributed to a wide range of projects, from office and residential developments to museum, transportation, mixed-use, masterplan, and refurbishment projects.
Maria has contributed to projects from competition stage to completion, integrating parametric tools to refine design processes. Working with multidisciplinary teams, Maria plays a key role in structuring BIM processes from the outset, facilitating effective coordination between design, consultant, and construction teams.
Before joining ZHA, Maria worked as an architect in Greece, focusing on luxury residential design, urban planning, and the development of innovative housing typologies.

Maria completed her Bachelor of Architecture (Honours), Diploma in Architecture (Honours), and Master of Architecture from the Liverpool John Moores University in the UK. She has lectured at the University of Birmingham in the UK and has represented ZHA at international conferences.
Growing up in Greece, Maria was inspired by its rich history but also recognised a gap in contemporary architectural development, which led her to specialise in technical delivery to extend cultural heritage into the future. Maria is also a dancer and enjoys music performance and interactive arts.

A place of convergence and collaboration, the Yidan Center will be home to the Chen Yidan Foundation in its work to promote lifelong learning and innovation in education.

Offices
Conceived as four interconnected towers reaching a height of 200m (42 floors), the 185,000 sq.m design incorporates two towers of flexible, open-plan spaces linked by a 20-storey vertical lobby, and two external service towers providing vertical circulation.

Serving as the gateway to the Cityzen community, a new civic hub in the west of Tbilisi, Cityzen Tower is ZHA's first project in Georgia.
