About Andrea

Andrea Balducci Caste joined ZHA in 2005 and has since contributed to a wide range of international competitions, exhibitions, and built projects across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. His portfolio includes works such as the Regium Waterfront development in Italy and ZHA’s first building in France, the Pierresvives Archive & Library in Montpellier.

Profile

Andrea played a key role in the CityLife Generali Tower in Milan and has recently contributed to Studio City Resort Phase 2 in Macau. He is currently focused on the Mediterranean region, where he is working on the Centre of Mediterranean Culture in Reggio Calabria, Italy.

Education & Professional Philosophy

Andrea completed his Master of Architecture and Urbanism at the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) of the Architectural Association in London. He previously studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and graduated with honours from the Università degli Studi di Camerino, where he later returned as a lecturer.

 

Born in Italy and widely travelled, Andrea applies his understanding of diverse cultures to bridge global architectural trends and vernacular nuances. Beyond architecture, his interests extend to archaeology, art, and music.
