About Aurora

With extensive experience on residential, cultural and transport projects, Aurora Santana specialised in façade rationalisation, interior design and urban planning. In recent years, her work has focused on masterplanning, competitions, acquisitions and early design stages across China, Russia, the Middle East, USA and Africa.

Profile

Aurora joined ZHA in 2005 before moving back to Spain in 2008, where she worked on masterplanning, renovations, and competitions. Rejoining ZHA in 2012, she was based in Guangzhou, China, for the Changsha Meixihu International Cultural Centre. Since relocating to London in 2013, she has contributed to key projects, including One Thousand Museum and 520 West 28th in the US and Zhuhai Jinwan Civic Art Centre in China.

 

Aurora currently focuses on project management and acquisition of major projects, including coordination and management of internal and external teams.

Education & Professional Philosophy

Aurora completed her Bachelor of Architecture in 2003 at the Superior Architecture Technical School of Barcelona in Spain and in 2005 she completed her Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) at the Architectural Association (AA) in London.

 

Growing up in Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Aurora developed a strong awareness of environmental issues, nature preservation, and sustainability goals. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, watching films, running, and yoga.
