Dieter’s experience in architecture spans all scales, from interior design and small villas to large-scale masterplanning, demonstrating his versatility across various architectural typologies. He is highly skilled in the use of digital design tools, and digital fabrication. This well-rounded technical skill set enables him to effectively address complex design challenges. Additionally, he dedicates time to mentoring young architects and supporting their professional development.
Prior to joining ZHA, Dieter established his own practice in Brazil and has over a decade of teaching experience. He also worked at renowned firms such as Atmos Studio.

Dieter earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Brasília in Brazil and his Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) at the Architectural Association (AA) in London. He has taught at universities in Brazil and has taught masters programmes at the University of Pennsylvania in the US, the Architectural Association (AA), and the Royal College of Arts (RCA) in London.
Growing up in Brazil, Dieter was surrounded by the architecture of Oscar Niemeyer, which initiated his passion for design, arts, and architecture, laying the foundation for his career.

Comprised of 293 apartments offering panoramic views of Qetaifan Bay and the Lusail skyline, The Grove has been designed with its waterfront promenade as the heart of the community.

Heritage + Regeneration
Repurposing an existing shipping warehouse built in 1960 into a new 20,000 sq. m ferry and cruise ship terminal, ZHA’s design adds a fourth level to the structure to incorporate public terraces with panoramic views of the Daugava River and the skyline of Riga’s city centre, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

KAPSARC develops policies and economic frameworks that reduce the environmental impact and overall costs of energy supply and enable practical technology-based solutions to use energy more efficiently.

The team comprising ZHA working with architecture, engineering consultancy Sweco and landscape architects Tredje Natur has won the competition to build the new Aarhus football stadium in Denmark.

Infinitus Plaza is the new global headquarters of Infinitus China. Incorporating work environments designed to nurture connectivity, creativity and entrepreneurship, the new headquarters also includes the group’s herbal medicine research facilities and safety assessment labs as well as a learning centre for conferences and exhibitions.

Interior Architecture
The interior design of Infinitus Plaza continues the architectural narrative established by the building’s exterior form. Echoing the symbol for infinity (∞), the design creates a series of shared indoor and outdoor spaces that reflect Infinitus’ core values: connection, adaptability, and collective well-being.

Located on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, Oystra is a 128,000 square metre seafront development of 950 one- to four-bedroom apartments, duplexes, penthouses, and waterfront villas, together with extensive shopping, dining and leisure amenities.
