Sai joined ZHA in 2015, initially working as part of the computational design research group on the award-winning Mathematics: The Winton Gallery at the Science Museum in London. His expertise spans all stages of design and construction, with notable involvement in four major airport projects: Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) in India, Western Sydney International Airport in Australia, Addis Ababa Airport in Ethiopia, and Terminal 3B Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport in China. A creative designer with strong coordination and communication skills, he consistently collaborates with diverse teams to deliver innovative design solutions.
Prior to rejoining ZHA in 2022, he gained experience at Foster + Partners in London.

Featured Project
Inspired by the Handley Page aircraft, the design is driven by equations of airflow used in the aviation industry. The layout and lines of the gallery represent the air that would have flowed around this historic aircraft in flight, from the positioning of the showcases and benches to the three-dimensional curved surfaces of the central pod structure.

Sai earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the M.S. Ramaiah School of Architecture in Bangalore and his Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) at the Architectural Association (AA) in London. He has presented ZHA projects in lectures and events, including Studio Lates at the London Festival of Architecture (LFA).
Sai has motorcycled from Cornwall to Scotland along the western coast of the UK, documenting his adventures with a camera and hoping to create coffee table books of his journeys one day.

The renovation and redevelopment of Mercury House integrates residential apartments and a boutique hotel within Malta’s most dynamic urban environment. Creating new public spaces and amenities for the island’s residents and visitors, the design responds to Paceville’s key urban challenges by investing in its civic realm and increasing its limited housing supply.
