Two new stadiums by ZHA nominated for Stadium of the Year 2026

The stadiums of the Xi’an International Football Centre and the Greater Bay Sports Centre have been nominated ‘Stadium of the Year 2026’. Organised by StadiumDB, ‘Stadium of the Year' is the world’s largest international award programme recognising the architectural innovation, design quality, and spectator experience of the best new stadiums across the globe.

Xi'an International Football Centre

The Xi’an International Football Centre is a 60,000-seat venue that nurtures the sport at all levels, from international competition to grassroots community leagues and youth training academies, enabling all generations of Xi’an’s residents and visitors to gather, play and celebrate football’s unifying spirit.

Greater Bay Area Sports Centre

The Greater Bay Area Sports Centre has been designed to host a diverse programme of major national and international sporting events and cultural performances, while also supporting local government initiatives to increase sports participation in schools. It provides Nansha’s residents with a variety of landscaped spaces along the river for recreation and communal gathering.
