Abdel’s contributions span significant infrastructure and urban projects, such as the King Abdullah Financial District Metro Station in Riyadh. He has also worked on high-end commercial and mixed-use developments and, more recently, large-scale masterplans in China and the Middle East. His design approach emphasises innovative, context-sensitive solutions, consistently exploring possibilities that respond to spatial and functional needs.
Prior to his work at ZHA, Abdel gained experience in Beirut, working on major developments and masterplans through all stages of project delivery. Abdel received his Diploma in Architecture from the American University of Beirut in 2009. He subsequently gained his Master of Architecture in Emergent Technologies and Design (EmTech) from the Architectural Association (AA) in London in 2013, where he honed his expertise in computational and parametric design, exploring geometries inspired by natural phenomena.
Growing up in Lebanon, a nation bridging Eastern and Western perspectives, Abdel brings a unique cultural insight to his work, enhancing collaboration across diverse teams. His early passion for pencil drawing and painting sparked his lifelong pursuit of architecture.
