About Haohao

Since joining ZHA, Haohao Chen has contributed to key projects across southern China, including the Shenzhen Science & Technology Museum and Fintech Tower. He recently assisted in the establishment of ZHA's Shenzhen office where he is now based, and oversees project development and completion across the Greater Bay Area.

Profile

With over a decade of experience, Haohao has contributed to high-profile competition entries and delivered projects from concept to construction. With  extensive on-site experience, he works closely with peers, local material suppliers, and manufacturers to understand regional strengths and limitations. He is also actively involved in project management, administration, and acquisitions.

 

Prior to joining ZHA, Haohao contributed to a wide range of projects in the UK and internationally, focusing on the hospitality and prime residential sectors for new builds and refurbishments from feasibility through to construction.

Education & Professional Philosophy

Haohao began his architectural education at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing before earning his Bachelor with Honours and Master of Architecture from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow. He has contributed to final critiques and juries at various academic institutions and design firms.

 

Haohao lived in the UK for 15 years and has developed a deep understanding of British and European cultures and professional systems. Upon returning to China, he leveraged this experience to navigate and bridge the domestic architectural landscape and international practices. Outside work, he enjoys exploring architecture, art, music, and science fiction, as well as driving through European countryside for inspiration.
