Leo completed his Bachelor of Architecture in Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, additionally studying at the Technical University of Lisbon in Portugal and California Polytechnic State University in the US. He earned his Master of Architecture in Architectural Design from the Bauhaus Dessau School of Design in Germany. He has also completed the Airport Terminal Planning and Design course by IATA.
Growing up in Brazil, Leo’s interest in architecture was sparked by the work of Oscar Niemeyer. With a father in the yacht industry, he developed a connection to design through boats. Outside architecture, he also has a passion for theatre and hopes to explore set design in the future.

Heritage + Regeneration
Establishing Eleftheria Square as the city’s primary gathering space, ZHA design creates new connections intended to unite a divided capital. Nicosia’s massive Venetian fortifications separate the old city from its modern districts, while the city’s ‘Green Line’ divides the capital into two disparate communities.

Culture
Integrating three distinct cultural institutions for the city, each venue within the Zhuhai Jinwan Civic Arts Centre incorporates unique characteristics that create differing visitor experiences, yet all are united by a coherent formal and structural logic that spans 170 meters wide from east to west and 270 meters long from north to south.
