About Peter

Peter Irmscher is a key member of ZHA’s office in Berlin, bringing over a decade of experience across various projects and scales. Since joining ZHA in 2010, he has contributed to competitions and commissions in Germany, the UK, and the Middle East, working on all phases from concept to construction.

Profile

Peter’s built portfolio includes the Library & Learning Centre in Vienna, the Messner Mountain Museum Corones in Italy, and Nuremberg Messe Halls 3A and 3C in Germany. His experience on projects range from interior spaces to high-rises and masterplans, including a museum at an altitude of 2,275m.

 

Prior to joining ZHA, Peter worked with architectural practices in Germany and the Netherlands, including UN Studio in Amsterdam, honing his expertise in delivering impactful and environmentally conscious architecture.

Al Janoub Stadium

As one of the eight venues for the Qatar World Cup, Al Janoub Stadium hosted group and quarter-final matches of the tournament and is located in Al Wakrah

Education & Professional Philosophy

Peter completed his Diploma in Architecture from the University of Dresden in Germany, as well as studies at the University of Bath in the UK. He has delivered presentations and lectures in Germany, Austria, and Italy.

 

Outside of the office, Peter enjoys surfing — finding inspiration and balance in the dynamic interplay between nature and movement.
