Since joining ZHA in 2013, Takehiko has contributed to high-profile projects such as the LEED Platinum Awarded BEEAH Headquarters in the UAE, and the Unicorn Island Masterplan and CECEP Shanghai Campus in China. He has also played a key role in major aviation projects, including the Navi Mumbai International Airport in India and Western Sydney International Airport in Australia.
Working with advanced geometry and fabrication technologies, Takehiko combines design leadership with extensive project management experience, overseeing coordination between clients, contractors, and design teams.
Prior to joining ZHA, Takehiko worked at Foster + Partners for six years.

Takehiko holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Architecture from Kyoto University in Japan. He completed his Diploma in Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL). He has lectured across the world and has been an invited guest critic at the Bartlett and the Architectural Association (AA) in London. His work has been published world-wide including the International Journal of Architecture Computing.

Masterplans
A mixed-use masterplan for 70,000 researchers, office staff, residents and visitors, Unicorn Island has been designed to enhance the well-being of its community; its design influenced by principles within the region’s historical natural engineering projects.
