Virtual Spaces

Metrotopia
Our ability to create fully immersive virtual environments gives us design powers that were unimaginable when our practice was founded nearly half a century ago. These tools enable us to explore multiple iterations of building designs, analysing and testing variables virtually for efficient implementation in physical construction.
Our work in cyberspaces – using multiplayer video games and the metaverse as collaborative platforms for design – allows us to reach new communities, support new forms of cultural production, and showcase parametric approaches to broad audiences.
Projects
From an alternate version of London within Fortnite to a metaverse based exhibition of the world’s most prominent architects, explore the virtual environments we are creating.

Research
Led by a culture of research, ZHA is always ahead of the curve because we never stop learning: experimenting, testing, refining, seeking. Anticipating challenges and developing solutions. Envisioning new possibilities, and finding ways to build them.
