About Bidisha

With over 20 years of professional experience, Bidisha Sinha initially focused on leading the design and delivery of large-scale architectural projects across the world. Over time, she has expanded her focus to include design & delivery of interior architecture projects, bringing the same rigor and attention to detail to internal environments.

Profile

Since joining ZHA in 2005, Bidisha has gained extensive experience working on high-profile developments across Asia, Europe, and the US. She has been instrumental in two major award-winning projects — Mathematics: The Winton Gallery at the Science Museum in London, which won the RIBA Award in 2017; and the Evelyn Grace Academy in London, winner of the 2011 RIBA Stirling Prize. With exceptional communication skills, she effectively coordinates internal and external teams, working closely with public authorities and stakeholders. She is dedicated to improving studio culture and actively promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the office.

Education & Professional Philosophy

Bidisha received her Diploma in Architecture from the School of Habitat Studies in Delhi and earned her Master of Architecture and Urbanism from the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) at the Architectural Association (AA) in London. She has been actively involved as a visiting critic in design reviews and panels at prestigious institutions in India and the UK, and regularly speaks at events, including the Global Innovation Forum, Salone del Mobile Milano, and the BMW rad°hub session. Her passion for architecture also extends into the editorial and writing domains.

Bidisha’s diverse upbringing in Damascus and North India instilled an appreciation for multiculturalism and shaped her compassionate approach to communication and collaboration. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking as a creative outlet — she previously organised a supper club that introduced people to the cultural experience of eating with their hands.
